Message	They have to be sealed with no leaks arounf the mid. I tried capping off the vent and with it open. You will just have to try it both ways and see which sounds the best with your speakers. Mine sounded better with using the vent. Leave the poly in the box it helps with the resonation and backwaves Spddracer
